THE CURRENT SITUATION AND WHAT I’M DOING ABOUT IT

The latest CAASPP results show that SSFUSD still has work to do when it comes to student achievement.

Only 49.30% ELA and 39.88% math met or exceeded standards districtwide in 2025-2026. Compared with 2024-2025, English declined slightly, while Math remained essentially unchanged.

The data also show substantial achievement gaps. For example, economically disadvantaged students were at 32.8% proficient/advanced in ELA and 24.2% in math, compared with approximately 63.0% and 52.5%, respectively, for students who were not economically disadvantaged.

Seven years later, SSFUSD students are still meeting English and Math standards at lower rates than in 2018–19. It is time we provide students and staff with the necessary resources and support to see real change. Our students are capable of so much more.
